Where to Start?

OK, so you've successfully completed your Shopall Affiliate registration process, you've validated your account and entered your Affiliate Dashboard for the first time... And now what?

With the objective of resolving many of these questions, and pointing new affiliates in the right direction, we highly recommend you to read the document "Initial Implementation and Optimisation Guide" which you will find on the right-hand navigation panel of your Affiliate Dashboards.

Amongst other things, this brief tutorial will get you started and explain the basics of creating and optimising product window ads. Should you have any additional questions or comments, please write to afiliados@shopall.com.

Q & A - Western Union, Invoicing, Statistics

Over the past few weeks our affiliates have raised a number of interesting issues which we would like to share here, as they may well be of interest to you now or in the future.

Question: "I have recently added a Shopall product window ad code in my blog, but after 2 days I still cannot see any clicks or impressions being registered in my Affiliate dashboard".

Answer: This is clearly an abnomal occurance, and not something that we see frequently. The most likely explanation is that there has been an error in generating the codes, or in adding them to your website, and that is why clicks and impressions are not being recorded. The other explanation is that the generation of your codes has coincided with a period where Shopall is updating its backoffice systems, which may also explain a delay of up to 48 hours in posting click and impression numbers on the Affiliate dashboards. These are in any case rare occurances and we would ask you to please contact us as soon as possible if you detect such a problem. In most cases click and impression numbers are registered in our system and we will be able to restore them to your dashboard.

Question: "Can Shopall transfer my earnings via Western Union, and if so what is the process I should be following?"

Answer: As many of our affiliates already knowm, Shopall is in the process of integrating its platform with Western Union so that we may be able to pay our affiliates via this route. This was a common request from many of our partners in Latin America, and just like in the past we incorporated PayPal in response to requests from our affiliates we are currently doing the same with Western Union.

As soon as we have completely integrated this payment method into our platform, we will explain how to do it in more detail.

Question: "How does invoicing actually work and how should I do it? I believe that payment cycles are quarterly, but if I generate more that 25€ in any given month can I invoice it immediately or must I wait until the next quarter?"

Answer: Indeed our payment cycle is quarterly, which means that Affiliates must invoice us 4 times a year - no more and no less - independently of the revenues generated in any given month or quarter. Invoices are issued via the "My Account" tab of the Affiliate dashboard system during the months of April (Q1 revenues) July (Q2 revenues) October (Q3 revenues) and January (Q4 revenues).

Product Search Engine Integration

The integration of products within a search engine's results is perhaps one of the most effective ways of maximising affiliate CTR and therefore the effective CPM that they are earning.

Although this integration is essentially limited to those cases where the affiliate's website already has a search engine generating a significant daily volume of queries, and it requires a certain technological know-how to integrate the Shopall API in XML format, the results are well worthwhile and it is possible to obtain value-added results for the end user.

A clear example can be seen in Terra:

In essence, every time that a user performs a search query in the affiliate website, we receive the search string and return product results matching that query. The search results which we return are in XML format, including a number of different parameters such as product name, brand, price, URL, image etc... The affiliate can then format these parameters and print them on the website search results in the desired look & feel.

If you are interested in maximising your revenues through a product search API, please contact us.

Build your own Shopping Mall

Apart from the product window ads, many of our affiliates have asked us about the possibility of creating their own online shopping mall with the objective of offering their users value added content and at the same time maximising their revenue streams.

Up to now, this was a relatively complex task as technically it was not feasible to automatically offer every affiliate an online shopping mall similar to http://compras.larazon.es or http://compras.hola.com.

However, we are pleased to inform that we have recently launched a simple and effective WYSIWYG tool that will allow every affiliate to build their own shopping mall in 4 simple steps. No programming knowledge is required.

Through an option that will be accessible from the affiliate dashboard, you will only need to follow these simple steps:

1) Shopping mall header and footer (pre-configured templates or fully customised)
2) Alignment, Page Width and Colour Scheme
3) Backgound and Buttons
4) Final Configuración

You will now be able to have a fully operational shopping mall, apart from the product window ads which we encourage you to continue using.

Please let us know if you are interested in building your own shopping mall so that we may activate this option for you in your affiliate dashboard.

Inserting Window Ads in Different Sites

One of our most frequently asked questions is whether or not a Shopall affiliate may insert product window ads in different websites using the same ID codes generated through the affiliate dashboard.

In some cases, the affiliate registers for the Shopall affiliate service using one website, but after having tried it out the affiliate wishes to include the service in other websites under his management. In these cases, is it absolutely necessary for the affiliate to register each website separately?

Initially, and as a general rule, the affiliate may publish product window ads in other websites as long as (a) the target audience, theme and type of websites are of a similar nature (b) the website does not include adult, violent or difamatory content (c) the affiliate previously informs us of the website(s) where he or she intends to include the product codes.

If the websites are indeed very different, or if their content is oriented to a substantially different type of audience, we will recommend the affiliate to register the new site separately as our product matching algorithm will work best if kept separate.

Should you have any queries, do not hesitate to contact us.

OME 2008 Closing Remarks

For a second year in a row, Shopall was present at the professional trade show OME (Online Marketing EspaƱa) held at the Palacio Municipal de Congresos in Madrid on March 12th and 13th.

In this edition of OME over 80 exhibitors, 80 speakers and 4.000 visitors from all areas of marketing, media and advertising assisted. We perceived a significant growth with respect to last year's edition, a notable presence of leading international companies and in general an atmosphere which suggests a positive outlook for the sector.

During these days, we had the opportunity of meeting our affiliates and getting to know many of you in person. Similarly, our platform generated significant interest from several portals and media companies that will join our network in the coming weeks.

Our ability to monetize traffic for partners, the customer service we offer and the value-added services which we provide for end-users are 3 of the main factors that differentiate us from other platforms and that have contributed in exponentially growing our network in recent months.

Once again, thank you for using Shopall.
